A decidedly rock album, featuring tracks recorded between 1976 and 1995, Medicine Man benefits from a host of great musicians, including: Clive Skeggs (lead on 12 & 13), Steve Kirby (acoustic on 12 & 13), and Joy Sarney (female vocal on 13); plus, on 8, 9, 10 and 11, John Bower on bass, Colin Woolway on drums, John Pugh on sax, Pete Jacobson on keyboards and Mo Whitham on lead and acoustic guitars. Magnificent lead guitar (a 3 hour session) on Maria Bahran is by Neil Minter, with Mark Cooper on drums and Jon Bidgood on bass. Tracks 4 & 5 again feature Mark on drums with brother Vince on electric guitar, Steve Sculpher on bass and Martin Grey, sax on 5. Tracks 2, 3, 6 and 7 feature John Mathews on lead & bass guitars, Steve Jones on keyboards, James Davies on drums and Deni Baldwyn on sax. All songs, lead vocals, acoustic rhythm (tracks 1 - 7 ) and harmonica by Dany.
